The lens of the eye is normally transparent. As we age this lens becomes cloudy. When a cloudy area develops in the lens, it is called a cataract.

YAG Laser
Several months or even years following cataract surgery, the posterior capsule of the lens can itself become cloudy. A Nd-YAG Laser is used to make a hole in this capsule, thus allowing light to pass freely again to the retina and, therefore, improving vision.

Glaucoma is a condition in which the optic nerve, which joins the eye to the brain, undergoes damage therefore resulting in visual loss.

A pterygium is a benign growth that develops on the surface of the eye and grows towards the cornea, then into the cornea if it is aggressive.

Strabismus or squint is when the eyes deviate from perfect alignment. When the eyes are misaligned, two different images are sent to the brain.
