Enhance your eyesight by eating these certain foods

Did you know the health of your eyes can be influenced by the foods we eat? Help to protect your eyes by consuming more foods with vision-friendly nutrients! At Peter A. Martin MB BS located in Bondi Junction, we understand the effect food can have on the eyes. Have a look through our list of foods below that are ideal for maintaining good eyesight.

Pink and red grapefruit –  These are full of antioxidants, and are rich in vitamin C which can protect your eye health.

Kale – Kale is a leafy green vegetable and can increase the pigment density in the macula, which leads to better retina protection and quite possible a lower chance of macular degeneration.

Tea – Tea contains powerful antioxidants, and has been found in a study on rats to lower the risk of cataracts by about 50%!

Salmon – Delicious and easy to eat, salmon is B-vitamin rich and contains omega-3 fatty acids, both of which can protect your eyesight.
